Call for Papers   The Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Mining (DM) Subdivisions of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) are jointly organizing a One-day Pre-conference Workshop in conjunction with the 2007 INFORMS Annual Conference. Both the College of AI and the DM Section are interdisciplinary subdivisions that bring together researchers and practitioners in engineering and business that are interested in the theory, application and methodologies of AI, DM and knowledge discovery.  More information about these two Subdivisions can be found at  http://isd.arizona.edu/CAI, and  http://dm.section.informs.org/.

The First AI/DM Workshop was held in 2006, with 24 presentations, one tutorial, and one panel discussion. It was well-attended with more than 100 participants. WAID 2007 will build on the momentum of this successful first meeting and is seeking research contributions and application case studies highlighting the frontiers of new knowledge and advances in AI and DM, and their business impact.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Applications of AI and DM

Foundations of AI and DM

Computing

Intelligent systems

Machine Learning

Heuristic/metaheuristic search algorithms

AI/DM in Operations research

AI/DM in Operations management.

Statistical methods

Pattern Recognition

Natural Language Processing

Intelligent Information Retrieval

Visualization

Kernel Methods

Neural Networks

Evolutionary Algorithms

Decision Trees

Support Vector Machines
